The Oak Tree 5K is the companion race to the half marathon for those interested in a shorter distance. Around 400 runners and walkers participate in the 5K. The 5K highlights the National Historic Landmark District of the Village of Geneseo, traveling through the business district before touring several historic residential streets. The course also passes the historic Hartford House and John W. Chanler Island Preserve, both permanently conserved by Genesee Valley Conservancy.
A water station and music will be on the course and you will finish on the track at the Geneseo Central School where you can relax to cheer on the winners of the half marathon.
Our course is Certified to be accurate by USATF #NY16111KL. The elevation profile is found on the Course Map.
This 5 kilometer course runs on paved roads closed to all traffic.
Walkers are welcome and encouraged to register and participate in the 5k! Strollers are welcome but please remain toward the back so as not to interfere with runners.
Aid Station: One station with water will be at mile 1.5.
Restrooms: Located at the starting line and the finish.
Medics: EMS personnel will be staged at the finish line.
Lead vehicle: Genesee Valley Jeep provides a Jeep to lead runners through the Village.
Surplus shirts will be sold at the event
