The Oak Tree Half Marathon is the premier distance running race in the region. Over 300 runners complete the half marathon. Run through the National Historic Landmark District of Geneseo and head into the Genesee Valley past Oak Grove savannahs, sheep pastures, and horse farms. Pass thousands of acres of permanently conserved landscapes, protected by Genesee Valley Conservancy.
The course features some of the most spectacular scenery in western New York. The event has a small town feel but includes all of the amenities you would expect at a big city race.
With live music on the course, historic aircraft flyovers, and hand-made finisher medals, the Oak Tree is a unique half marathon that showcases the beauty of the Genesee Valley.
Our course is Certified to be accurate by USATF #NY16114KL. The elevation profile is found on the Course Map.
This 13.1 mile course runs on paved (40%) and dirt (60%) roads. The majority of the course is closed to traffic during the race.
Walkers are welcome, but if you do not expect to finish before the course closes (3hrs 15min), you must take the early start at 7am. Please notify us when you register. All early starters will have a minimum 3hr time. The early start is not available to runners.
Course Closure: The course closes at 11:15. For safety, we cannot leave participants on the course after this time.
Aid Stations: Seven stations on the course with water and five also with Gatorade.
Restrooms: Located at the starting line, mile 1.5, and the finish.
Medics: Personnel will be roaming the course on an ATV with basic medical supplies, a defibrillator, and water. EMS personnel will be staged at the finish line.
Lead vehicle: The Livingston County Cycling Club provides bikers to lead the top male and female runners.
Surplus shirts will be sold at the event: $10 current year, $5 past years
