Kevin Killigrew

Growing up in Rochester, Kevin has been involved in the outdoors, running, cycling, kayaking, and exploring the natural areas of Rochester and the surrounding regions.

Kevin attended SUNY Brockport and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Environmental Science and Ecology. His graduate thesis focused on floating treatment wetlands and the potential for wetland plants and substrates to improve degraded water quality.

Kevin previously worked on the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program, where he traveled along Lake Ontario and Erie identifying wetland vegetation and monitoring coastal wetland health.

As the Land Steward at Genesee Valley Conservancy, Kevin hopes to continue his passion for plants and the outdoors by improving the Conservancy’s nature preserves and protecting their natural communities.
