2021-2025

Strategic Plan

Introduction

Genesee Valley Conservancy is a thriving organization that has seen increasing success since its founding in 1990. This plan attempts to continue that success by reaffirming long term goals and detailing short term objectives to help achieve those goals. This plan also identifies strategies and benchmarks that will support efforts toward each objective, guiding Board and staff work over the coming years.

Following is a brief summary of key points in the plan.

Climate

Human caused climate change is an urgent issue in the world. While our conservation work by its very nature helps provide natural solutions to some climate issues, the organization must continue to investigate means to further our positive impact on addressing climate issues with our work, ensure we are communicating our climate based work to the public as part of our broader messaging, and look for ways to further reduce the impact our organization has on climate.
